Eric Rothwell

This is Eric's 1st year as Head Coach of Colerain High School.    Previously, Eric coached as an assistant at Elder high school and had been the head coach of Walnut Hills High School for 10 seasons from 2009 - 2018 and was coach of the year in 2011 and 2014.  In the past, he has led his team to a Sectional Tournament Championship (2013, 2014), the last FAVC championship (2011), the inaugural ECC Championship (2012), and another ECC championship in 2014. His overall record is 87-52-24 (.607). 

Away from high school soccer,  Eric has coached an OVPL Men's team, several teams from U8 - U19 for Kings Hammer Soccer Academy.  In 2016, his Kings Hammer team won the KPL and the KY state cup.   Most recently, he has also undertaken the role of KY ODP state coach for the 2004s.   Eric also coached at CUP for 9 years, where he has coached teams through MRL, OSSL, and national premier tournaments such as Disney, CASL, and Jefferson CUP. In 2014, Eric finished a 4-year cycle at CUP where 16 of his players have signed to play college soccer next year. In 2013 and 2014, he ran the local soccer program for U6, U5, and U4 in Delhi, Ohio before he moved on to coach a season at Cincinnati West with a U7 team.

Through both High School and club, Eric has helped many young men through the college selection process and has many former players who played or are playing in all divisions of college soccer.

He currently holds a USSF "A" License, Sports Management Degree, a Masters in Education, and has completed Principal Administrative classes. As a player, Eric played at Wheeling Jesuit University from 1998-2001, where he was part of a 2000 team that went undefeated in the regular season and reached the final 8 in the Division II tournament. Before college, he played for Beavercreek High School (1998) and for the Centerville Galaxies. During the day, Eric teaches 6th grade at Bridgetown Middle School in the Oak Hills school district. He currently resides in Hyde Park, OH with his wife Jessica and two children (Sofia and Owen).
