Colerain High School brings home another Cardinal pending BOE approval. We welcome Tom Taulbee as the new head Baseball Coach.

Colerain High School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Tom Taulbee as the new head baseball coach. A proud graduate of Colerain High School in 1997.

Tom's connection to the Colerain community is like none other, as he met his wife, Nicole, who is also a proud graduate of Colerain High School. Together, they are raising three wonderful boys. Carson, their oldest son, and a senior captain, recently graduated in 2023 as a distinguished player, earning the title of 1st Team GMC player. Austin, their middle child, is entering 8th grade at Colerain Middle School, while their youngest, Blake, currently attends Colerain Elementary School in the 3rd grade.

With an extensive coaching background spanning over 20 years in the Colerain community and 7+ years working with high school-age players, Tom has honed his skills in understanding the needs of athletes, developing effective strategies, and achieving successful outcomes. He carries with him the valuable lessons learned from being coached by legendary figures such as Don Colussi, Chris Newton, Dave Schneider, Bill "Hawk" Hawkins, and Chuck Murray, instilling in him a strong sense of teamwork, discipline, and dedication.

Tom's athletic career started at Colerain High School, where he had the privilege of being a three-year varsity starter from 1995 to 1997, under the guidance of Don Colussi and Chris Newton. His outstanding performance earned him the prestigious honor of being selected as a 1st Team All MCC player in 1997, marking a significant milestone in his journey.

Continuing his passion for baseball, Tom played college ball at the renowned College of Mount St. Joseph, where he proudly served as the team captain in 2001. After graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, he acquired the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the business world.

In addition to his playing days, Tom has been actively involved in conducting baseball camps both locally and nationally. From 2013 to 2018, he had the privilege of serving as the head coach of the Cincinnati (Haubner) Hornets, Currently, Tom holds the position of General Manager at PBL Baseball (Panel Barn Lumber), where he continues to contribute to the growth and development of the sport. Tom is currently the Head Coach for the 17/18U PBL Baseball team. In addition to coaching, Tom is a highly regarded real estate agent at Pivot Realty.

Colerain High School is thrilled to have Tom Taulbee join the coaching staff and is confident that his expertise, dedication, and passion for baseball will lead the Cardinals to new heights of success.
