As the playoffs near, the latest Ohio High School Athletic Association computer poll rankings for football via JoeEitel.com were released Tuesday afternoon with Moeller, Badin and Wyoming remaining as top seeds in their regions.
Following week 10, the final rankings will be released with playoff matchups posted. In each division and region, 16 teams qualify. The following is a look at those who have currently clinched spots along with some intriguing playoff pairing possibilities.
Division I
Moeller remains the top overall seed in the state of Ohio and the Crusaders are one of seven Southwest Ohio schools who have clinched spots regardless of how they fare in the next two games. Moeller's current pairing in the No. 1/No. 16 game would be Lakota East.
Possible matchups of note: No. 8 seed Mason is slotted to face No. 9 St. Xavier right now. Any game featuring the Greater Miami Conference vs. the Greater Catholic League-South is usually the price of admittance. Another GMC fan favorite could be Lakota West as the No. 3 seed squaring off with No. 14 Colerain. Lakota West coach Tom Bolden's last game at Colerain was in the Division I state championship where the Cardinals were state runners-up. Shortly after, he was hired as head coach of Lakota West after 12 years of leading his alma mater.
